CLEVELAND, OH – After a half hour of pouring over the hospital’s mandatory hand hygiene module, 48 year-old Greg Blickensticker, MD, FACS reported that what he learned today will truly be changing his practice in the months ahead.

“You know, the first 10 years that I watched these modules, I didn’t think that much about it. But now, I’m growing to appreciate them more every year.”

He says the 23-minute video, originally produced in 1992, about the importance of hand washing is a symphony of useful facts and layers of meaning.

“Every year, I get a bit more out of it. For instance, did you know that the thumbs are one of the parts of the hand that’s most often missed when people are washing!? That blows my mind. How could we forget our thumbs!?”

He is actually planning to watch the module one more time on his computer once he gets home from work today.
